The previous iteration of our email newsletter faced significant challenges, primarily due to its extensive length and low user engagement. Metrics revealed a concerning open rate of only 6% and a click-through rate of a mere 0.5%, indicating a disconnect between the content and our audience's interests. The email's verbose and lengthy nature likely contributed to the dwindling attention of subscribers. Additionally, an overabundance of call-to-action (CTA) buttons created a cluttered layout, leading to confusion among readers and diluting the impact of each CTA. In response to the challenges faced by our previous email format, I pioneered the development of a new, streamlined email template, as illustrated in the 'after' image on our webpage. This revamped template was meticulously designed to offer a clearer, more focused reading experience for our subscribers. Central to this redesign was the emphasis on showcasing only the top two sports picks of the day, paired with a succinct promotional segment at the bottom of the email. This strategic content curation ensured that our subscribers received the most relevant and engaging information without feeling overwhelmed.

The revamped newsletter featured a harmonious blend of compelling images and concise copy, effectively reducing text bloat and enhancing interactivity. This cleaner, more visually appealing layout not only resonated better with our audience but also streamlined our production process. The new template allowed for efficient templatization, significantly speeding up the creation of daily newsletters compared to the previous, more content-heavy format.
